Mixed Choir

Open to all seventh and eighth grade returning choir members and new seventh and eighth grade chorus students transferring to Three Oaks with prior choral experience. This choir is designed to continue with the development of the vocal skills that began in sixth grade. Greater emphasis will be placed on the exploration of the many concepts of good musicianship. Musical concepts are presented and implemented at a faster rate than in beginning choir. The difficulty of the music will reflect the rate of progress of the individual and the choir as a whole. Our goal is to establish a tradition of Superior Ratings at F.V.A. Solo and Ensemble, All State, and the Smoky Mountain Music Festival. In addition, Mixed Choir will perform in the Fort Myers area. Select members of the Mixed Choir may be invited to be a part of Chamber Choir. This is not required, but if a student is invited, it is highly recommended that they participate, as it is an honor to have achieved a level of excellence in playing that would allow a student to be a member of our top-performing ensemble!

Class Structure

All chorus students will be placed in a chorus class based on their current grade level. All students will be placed in a choir based on their talent and other factors. All choirs will be comprised of mixed grades. Students should focus on the choir as a whole regardless of their grade.
