Concert Orchestra
Open to all seventh and eighth grade returning orchestra members and new seventh and eighth grade orchestra students transferring to Three Oaks with prior experience. This class is designed to continue with the development of the playing skills that began in beginning orchestra. Greater emphasis will be placed on the exploration of the many concepts of good musicianship. Musical concepts are presented and implemented at a faster rate than in sixth grade. The difficulty of the music will reflect the rate of progress of the individual and the orchestra as a whole. Select members of the Concert Orchestra may be invited to be a part of the Chamber Orchestra. This is not required, but if a student is invited, it is highly recommended that they participate, as it is an honor to have achieved a level of excellence in playing that would allow a student to be a member of our top-performing ensemble!
The Three Oaks Middle School Orchestra Program is known for its excellent musicians. This came through a commitment of the students, the director, the parents, and our school staff. By continuing in chorus throughout your middle school career, you are being provided the opportunity to develop a life long love of music, as well as to be a part of very special educational and musical ensemble!
