Open to all seventh and eighth grade returning orchestra members and new eighth grade orchestra students transferring to Three Oaks with prior orchestra experience. This class is designed to continue with the development of the physical skills of playing an orchestra instrument with an emphasis on furthering the knowledge and implementation of the concepts of good technique and musicianship. Musical concepts are presented and implemented at a faster rate than in Concert Orchestra. The difficulty of the music will reflect the rate of progress of the individual and the orchestra as a whole. Select students are invited to participate in All County, Solo & Ensemble, and All State.

The Three Oaks Middle School Orchestra Program is known for its excellent musicians. This came through a commitment of the students, the director, the parents, and our school staff. By continuing in chorus throughout your middle school career, you are being provided the opportunity to develop a life long love of music, as well as to be a part of very special educational and musical ensemble!

Class Structure

All orchestra students will be placed in an orchestra class based on their current grade level. All students will be placed in an orchestra based on their talent and other factors. All orchestras will be comprised of mixed grades. Students should focus on the orchestra as a whole regardless of their grade.
