The success of the Chorus & Orchestra program at Three Oaks Middle School is due in no small part to the success of our Parent Booster Club-3 C.O.P.A. Behind every successful student organization stands a parent support group willing to serve the students and directors of that organization. You can make a difference simply by your presence. At a time when your child is making critical decisions about ethics, behavior, integrity and the future, it is important for you to be involved. The Three Oaks Middle School Chorus & Orchestra Parent Association, Inc. is an excellent way to stay involved! Many parents think that the sole purpose of the Association is fundraising. While that is part of what they do, the main purpose is to create a partnership that connects students, parents, community, and director. The goals of this organization are as follows:

To promote parental understanding of student activities and opportunities as well as the purpose and objectives of the music program.
To provide greater communication between parents, students and the music director.
To promote music in the community through attendance of concert performances and public support of music activities.
To promote, maintain, and assist the music programs in Lee County by collaborating with other schools, parents, and other organizations.
To assist in raising funds necessary for realizing the objectives of the Three Oaks Middle School Chorus & Orchestra Program.

A. PURPOSE: To provide the students of the Three Oaks Middle School Chorus & Orchestra Program with the opportunities available for a first class music education. Basic philosophy: Work for our children with a focus on solutions, not problems.
The purposes of the organization are:
1. To conduct fund-raisers for the following uses:

a. purchase, maintain, and repair instruments and equipment
b. purchase of new music and educational materials
c. guest conductors and clinicians to work with our students
d. pay dues, entry fees and assessment fees for All-State, F.O.A., FVA, Festivals, etc.
e. pay transportation costs not funded by school district
f. administrative and operational costs of the organization
g. help supplement private lessons and provide instruments for needy students, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to be in chorus, orchestra, or guitar.

2. To provide chaperones for events
3. To provide transportation of equipment when necessary
4. To size, fit, and purchase or make uniforms and costumes
5. To help publicize and promote the T.O.M.S. Chorus, Orchestra, and Guitar Program throughout our school and community.
6. To provide social activities to develop camaraderie among our students and families (Annual Banquet, End-of-Year Trips, COG Parties)

B. LEADERSHIP POSITIONS: The Three Oaks Middle School Chorus, Orchestra, and Guitar Parent Association (3 C.O.P.A., Inc.) currently operates under the following organizational structure:
Executive Board:

Music Director - instructs students in their music education; oversees the 3 C.O.P.A. organization(s); assesses and determines needs and goals of the COG program; develops budget for 3 C.O.P.A.
President - oversees the operation of the organization; works closely with the Director to assess needs of the students and the program; runs Executive Board and General Membership meetings.
Vice-President Fund-Raising- Oversees fund-raising efforts, coordinating the committees assigned to each of the various fund-raisers.
Secretary - handles COG correspondence; organizes and oversees phone tree; coordinates fundraising advertisement, program promotion.
Treasurer - collects and deposits all monies; pays all bills incurred; prepares end-of-year financial statements; organizes bookkeeping to align with budget.

C. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP:
Anyone with a child in the Chorus & Orchestra Program is automatically considered a member of the 3 C.O.P.A. Any interested person, regardless of whether they have a child currently enrolled in the music program may also participate. There are no dues or membership fees. We do ask that every member of the organization donate a minimum of three (3) hours voluntary service to the Three Oaks Middle School Chorus & Orchestra Parent Association during the course of the school year! Our school administration must approve total operation of this SUPPORT organization
