• Last year's news! 2005-2006
  • Mr. Knecht would like to thank Chamber Choir for their outstanding work, and dedication. We have achieved what others will not achieve...by choice! We have done what others have said we couldn't do! We have redefined "how to teach chorus"! It has been a privilege teaching all of you! Thanks for a great year. You will be missed! Stay in touch!
  • 3COPA won the Parent Involvement Award for the 2005-2006 school year!! Three Oaks Middle School is the FIRST middle school to receive this award. 3COPA has applied for the Regional 4 award. More to follow.
  • NEW at Three Oaks! Pro Voice Technique! This exciting non traditional vocal technique is taking our choir students to an unbelievable level! Truly understanding how the diaphragm and vocal folds actually work in relation to singing is the key!! Students are now taught how the internal organs work, how to "trick" the diaphragm when singing, broaden their vocal range by at least TWO octaves, and create a healthy choral blend. Our choral students can do the following:
    • sight read as well as an instrumentalist!
    • understand basic/intermediate theory including key signatures! Yes, key signatures!
    • practice at home WITHOUT a part rehearsal CD. They CAN read!
    • 90% of the process is done by the students!!
    • all students begin in choir singing a cappella. 99% of rehearsals and practicing is done a cappella. Our students rehearse with a pianist on the day of the concert ONLY! Most of Chamber Choir's repertoire is a cappella!
  • American Music Festival/Hard Rock Live Competition/Adjudication --May 5th & 6th!!
  • Chamber Orchestra earned an "Excellent"rating at the Florida Orchestra Association District 18 Music Performance assessment (FOA MPA) on March 3-4 at Estero High School. Chamber earned "Superior Ratings" in all of last year's events playing ES" (level 1-2 material). But...Chamber Orchestra performed "CS"-level 3 material this year and earned an "Excellent" rating at this year's MPA! We are growing and will continue to "push the envelope! Mr. Knecht anticipates by next year, Chamber will be at "BS" level (high school)!
